The Ensisanat application has been developed to support the Finnish language learning of toddler-aged children.
The application contains 64 words to learn, divided into 8 themes: animals, toys, food, clothes, body parts, vehicles, outdoors and home.
The colourful images, amusing sound effects and inspiring practice modes guarantee an educational but also entertaining learning experience for first words.
Our team has developed Guider Game, a multilingual mobile game released in 2019 that helps young immigrants integrate into Finnish society. The Guider Game project was administered by Gamu ry, and was funded by the Funding Centre for Social Welfare and Health Organisations (STEA).
In 2020 Guider Game was added to the Finnish Museum of Games´ collection as an example of an educational game with a societal impact. It was among the finalists for the Finnish Refugee Council’s 2018 annual integration award, and in 2019 it was nominated as the Turku-based applied game of the year in the Finnish Game Awards.
